Refund Policy

How cancellations, refunds, and charges work for bookings and shop subscriptions on Baber.

1. Booking Refunds

This section covers refunds for payments made when booking a scheduled appointment through the Baber customer app.

24 hours or more before your appointment

If you cancel at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time, you will receive a 100% refund of the amount paid.

12 to 24 hours before your appointment

If you cancel between 12 and 24 hours before your appointment, you will receive a 70% refund. A 30% cancellation fee is retained.

Less than 12 hours before your appointment

Bookings cannot be cancelled within 12 hours of the scheduled appointment time. No refund will be issued.

Shop or barber cancellations

If a shop or barber cancels your booking for any reason, you will receive a full automatic refund (100%). No action is required on your part.

No-show

If you do not show up for your appointment and the shop marks you as a no-show, you will receive a 30% refund. The remaining 70% is retained as a no-show fee. Repeated no-shows may result in temporary restrictions on your account.

Walk-in bookings

Walk-in bookings (where you join a queue in person) are not eligible for refunds if cancelled by the customer.

Other circumstances

In some cases — for example, if a service was only partially completed or a pricing error occurred — a refund may be issued at the shop's or Baber's discretion on a case-by-case basis.

3. Wallet Credit Refunds

If you applied wallet credit (earned through referrals or promotions) to a booking, that credit will be returned to your wallet balance when a refund is processed. The credit is restored in the same currency it was originally applied.

If a booking was paid using a combination of wallet credit and a card or mobile money, the wallet credit portion is returned to your wallet and the remaining amount is refunded to the original payment method.

4. Subscription Refunds

Monthly subscriptions

Shop subscriptions (Basic, Pro, Business) are billed on a recurring monthly or yearly basis. You can cancel at any time from the Baber Shop app. Upon cancellation:

  • Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period.
  • No prorated refund is issued for the remaining days in the period.
  • Your shop reverts to the Free tier when the period ends.

Yearly subscriptions

Yearly subscriptions follow the same cancellation policy. The plan remains active until the annual period ends. No partial refund is issued for unused months.

Accidental or duplicate charges

If you believe you were charged in error or charged twice, please contact us via the Support section in the Baber app or email support@baber.app. We will investigate and issue a full refund if a billing error is confirmed.

5. How Refunds Are Processed

All refunds are processed through our payment partners — Stripe and Paystack — depending on your region and payment method. Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at checkout.

  • Processing time: 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank, card issuer, or mobile money provider.
  • Currency: Refunds are issued in the same currency that was charged. If a currency conversion occurred at the time of payment, your bank's exchange rate at the time of the refund will apply.
  • Confirmation: You will receive a refund confirmation email with a PDF receipt at the address associated with your Baber account.

6. Disputes

If you have a concern about a charge, please reach out via Support in the Baber app before filing a dispute with your bank. We aim to resolve all payment issues promptly and can usually process refunds faster than a formal bank dispute.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this refund policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Baber after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
