Baber is a barber booking platform that helps customers discover barbers and shops, book appointments, make payments, receive live queue updates, get appointment reminders, and manage bookings.
Baber also provides tools for barbers and shop owners to manage their business, track appointments, and serve customers.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, store, and protect your information when you use the Baber mobile apps (Customer and Shop), the admin dashboard, and related services.
By using Baber, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information needed to provide and improve the Baber service.
Account Information
When you create or use an account, we collect:
- Name
- Phone number
- Email address (where provided via Google or Apple sign-in)
- Profile photo, if you choose to upload one (stored as a thumbnail)
- Login method used (phone OTP, Apple Sign-In, or Google Sign-In)
We use this information to create your account, verify your identity, manage your bookings, send booking updates, and provide support.
How You Can Sign In
Baber supports the following login methods:
- Phone number with SMS verification -- we send a one-time code to your phone number via Firebase Authentication
- Sign in with Apple -- we receive your name and email (if you choose to share it) from Apple
- Sign in with Google -- we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google
We do not store passwords. Authentication is managed securely through Firebase Authentication.
2. Booking Information
When you make or manage a booking, we collect:
- Selected barber and shop
- Selected service and price
- Appointment date, time, and duration
- Booking status (pending, confirmed, completed, cancelled)
- Queue position and estimated wait time
- Service progress (confirmed, barber preparing, seated, in progress, completed)
- Cancellation history and any penalty information
- Notes you choose to provide
- Booking reference
We use this information to confirm your appointment, help the barber or shop prepare for your visit, provide live queue and status updates, process cancellations, and keep your booking history available in the app.
3. Payment Information
Baber uses Stripe to process payments securely. We do not store your full card number, bank account details, or complete payment credentials.
When you make a payment, Stripe processes the transaction directly. We receive and store only:
- Payment status (paid, pending, failed, refunded)
- Amount and currency
- Stripe checkout session reference
- Refund status and amount, where applicable
We use this information to confirm payments, hold appointment slots, process refunds, prevent fraud, and provide receipts.

4. Location Information
Baber uses your location to help you find nearby barbers and shops, show distance, and support map-based discovery.
We may collect:
- Precise location, if you grant permission
- Search queries for areas or shop names
Location data is used in real time to display nearby shops and is not stored on our servers beyond what is necessary for the booking (shop address and coordinates are stored as part of booking records).
You can turn off location access at any time in your device settings. You can still search for shops by name or area without granting location permission.
5. Live Queue and Status Updates
Baber provides real-time booking and queue updates to customers, barbers, and shops. We process:
- Queue position and estimated wait time
- Barber and shop availability and working hours
- Booking progress states
- Delay notifications
This information is processed in real time through Firebase Firestore and is used to keep all parties aligned during the booking lifecycle.
6. Notifications
Baber sends booking confirmations, reminders, queue updates, payment confirmations, and service notifications through:
- Push notifications (via Apple Push Notification service)
- WhatsApp messages (via WhatsApp Business API)
- In-app notifications
To deliver these, we may share limited booking details (your name, phone number, appointment time, shop name, barber name, and service) with:
- WhatsApp / Meta -- to send WhatsApp template messages
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs) -- to deliver push notifications
You can manage push notification preferences in your device settings. WhatsApp messages are sent to the phone number you registered with.
7. Calendar Access
If you choose to add a booking to your device calendar, Baber requests access to your calendar through Apple EventKit. We use calendar access only to create the appointment event you request. We do not read, modify, or delete your other calendar events.
8. Photos
If you choose to upload a profile photo or shop/barber banner image, Baber requests access to your photo library through Apple PhotosUI. Uploaded images are stored as part of your profile data. We do not access your photo library beyond the image you select.
9. Reviews, Ratings, and Feedback
After an appointment, you may choose to leave a rating and written review. This information may be visible to the barber, the shop, other customers, and the Baber support team. Do not include private or sensitive personal information in reviews.
10. Barber and Shop Information
For barbers and shop owners using the Baber Shop app, we collect:
- Name, phone number, and email
- Profile and banner images
- Shop name, address, and GPS coordinates
- Services offered and pricing
- Working hours and weekly schedule
- Closed dates
- Booking and queue activity
- Revenue and service performance metrics
- Ratings, reviews, and verification tier status
- Subscription status
11. Customer Support
If you contact support through the in-app support feature, we collect your messages, booking references related to your query, and support ticket status. We use this information to investigate and resolve your issue.
12. Device and Diagnostics
We collect limited technical information: device type, OS version, app version, and error logs. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or device fingerprinting. We do not collect your IDFA or use App Tracking Transparency.
13. Information We Do Not Sell
Baber does not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third-party advertisers or data brokers.
14. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Verify your phone number or sign-in method
- Show nearby barbers and shops
- Create, confirm, amend, or cancel bookings
- Process payments and refunds via Stripe
- Provide live queue and status updates
- Send booking reminders and notifications
- Add bookings to your calendar when you request it
- Provide customer support
- Operate the shop management dashboard
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
15. How We Share Information
With Barbers and Shops
We share your name, appointment details, selected service, booking notes, and payment status with the barber and shop you book with.
With Stripe
We share payment-related information with Stripe to process transactions. Stripe handles card data directly. See the Stripe Privacy Policy.
With WhatsApp / Meta
We share your phone number and limited booking details with WhatsApp Business API to send notifications.
With Firebase / Google Cloud
Your data is stored in Google Firebase. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Legal or Safety Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or court order.

- Turn off location access in your device settings
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

20. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure authentication, encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), PCI-compliant payment processing through Stripe, Firestore security rules, and role-based access controls.
21. Children's Privacy
Baber is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
22. International Users
Your information may be processed and stored in countries outside your country of residence, depending on our hosting and service providers.
23. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app. The updated policy will show a new effective date.
